Mini Recycling Centres (aka Bring Sites)

We operate over 130 mini recycling sites across Lewes district. These are in addition to our kerbside recycling service which makes collections from households. Here's a guide to help you find and use them.

Our mini recycling sites are known as 'Bring Sites'. As the name suggests, this requires you to bring your waste to them for recycling, rather than it being collected from you.

The Bring Sites are located around the district in places where people are already likely to visit, for example car parks and supermarkets.

Using the Recycling Sites

Please do:

  • Place the right items in the correct container as this helps keep the quality when sorted and sold
  • Rinse out all cans, bottles and jars and remove the lids
  • Plastic bottles can be washed, squashed flat and the lid screwed back on - don't worry about trying to squash bleach and other strong cleaner bottles though, just leave the lid on
  • Recycle little and often. If the recycling banks are full please come back another day

Please do not:

  • leave items for recycling on the floor
  • include anything in a plastic bag
  • leave cardboard boxes, refuse, packaging or other waste

If you do have cardboard to recycle please take it to the nearest household waste recycling site. If you are a business you should not leave any commercial waste at any of the mini-recycling centres. Please contact Customer Services for guidance.

Be aware will take action against those who fly tip or dispose of waste unlawfully. We want people to recycle and lawfully dispose of household and industrial waste.
