Garden Waste Collection
Our garden waste collection service is for anyone who enjoys gardening but would like to save themselves the time and effort of taking their garden waste to the tip.
How do I sign-up for garden waste collection?
Your first collection will be within six weeks of when you sign up to the service.
Once signed-up we provide you with a 240 litre garden waste wheelie bin and a calendar showing your fortnightly collection dates. We ask that you leave your garden waste bin kerbside from 6am on the day of collection (the same as you do with your refuse and recycling). If you think you might struggle with this you can apply for assisted collections
Garden waste collections are made fortnightly, but because of lower demand no collections are made in December or January. If you'd like to check the collection days in your area, simply head over to the waste and recycling collection days page where you can download collection calendars for the areas the service is available in so far.
How much does the service cost?
Subscription to the service is on an annual basis, and costs £70 per year including a garden waste bin at no extra cost. You can sign-up for the service at any time and your subscription will run for 12 months from the date you join.
By charging for the service, residents who do not have a garden, who compost at home, or who do not wish to use the service, do not pay for the service through their Council Tax.
What if I don't produce that much garden waste every fortnight?
If you don't have a big enough garden to fill a 240l wheelie bin every two weeks, you could always share the service with a neighbour - and share the cost with them too! You and your neighbour can fill your garden waste bin and leave it out for collection as normal.
