• Our Thinking On Waste

  One of our most important issues is managing waste in a more sustainable way. We have a policy to ensure the impact on the environment and human health is minimised.

• The Waste Hierarchy

  We use a hierarchy to deal with waste in the district. This best suits you as taxpayers and helps us deal with waste in an environmentally friendly and more sustainable way.

• Sustainable Waste Management Strategy

  Our strategy document focuses on domestic municipal waste as this is in our direct control. The UK Government has set statutory targets on this for us to meet.

• Environment & Sustainability

  In recent years, world leaders have started to question our ability to maintain our current quality of life and its sustainability for future generations. As a result, new ways of working are being sought.

• Zero Waste

  We have a long-term aspiration aim to reduce the amount of waste produced. In doing so, a change in policy and attitudes are needed to make a real difference.

  We have conducted a number of surveys and reports on waste and recycling in the district. Read the area of study and a copy of each report.
