Small businesses are encouraged to recycle as much waste as possible. To help you achieve this, we've compiled a list of useful services operating within the district.
Most businesses now operate using computers. Even though they help reduce the amount of paper used, computers and related equipment can produce waste themselves.
To help you dispose of this safely and in an environmentally-friendly manner, here are some recommended services.
This charity helps various projects in Britain and abroad. They have an effective techniques to refurbish and recycle computers.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept toner and print cartridges at our depots.
Thankfully, there are other companies who will collect them instead. Some may even offer money in exchange.
As contracts expire, or batteries fade, many of us look to exchange mobile phones for newer models.
You are able to dispose of your own phone using this service.
This is a Lewes-based environmental group working in partnership with us and Reclaim-it, a waste management company.
Campaign Whale will supply Free Post plastic envelopes to return your old mobile phones in.
Local businesses are welcome to drop office paper at our depot in North Street, Lewes.
To help manage paper recycling better, we sell green cardboard paper collection boxes. They are priced £5.00 each. We also loan reusable plastic woven sacks to go inside. Simply bring these sacks to our depot and empty into the bins located in the entrance.
We also offer a confidential shredding service at £4 per sack. Please remember to give us a Waste Transfer Note if you bring recycling to us.
We offer a cardboard and paper recycling collection scheme to small businesses.
The cost of this will be less than the same size bin of general waste. It just requires a few moments to separate cardboard and paper.

We do not offer a recycling collection for glass bottles and jars from commercial premises like pubs, bars and restaurants.
Local commercial operations may supply bins with no need to colour seperate the glass.
