How do I report an abandoned vehicle to Lewes District Council?

If the vehicle is situated on the public highway, has been there several days and does not have a current tax disc, it may be regarded as an abandoned vehicle. The set procedure for abandoned vehicles will then be followed.

First, the details of the vehicle will be taken. These include the registration number, make, model and colour. Subsequent to the details being received, the abandoned vehicle officer will inspect the vehicle.

If it is determined that the vehicle has been abandoned, the vehicle will be removed and disposed of. During the period of investigation,contact can be made with Customer Services by telephoning 01273 484999 or emailing abandoned.car@lewes.gov.uk.
