Lewes District Council has recently teamed up with East Sussex County Council and Liftshare, the largest implementer of car sharing systems here in the UK to form a ground breaking and innovative partnership in the form of TravelChoice.org.

Inline with central government's 10-year transport strategy, and our own County Council's policy on transport, TravelChoice has been developed, with the aim to reduce congestion and pollution here in East Sussex.

The sites aim is to promote all forms of transport and integrate both public and private transport modes. It's about giving you our users alternatives to the more traditional forms of getting from A to B. Including a new and innovative County wide car sharing scheme with strong links to the National liftshare Database.

It is absolutely free for anyone over the age of 16 to use and has been built and designed for every possible user. Whether you are a driver/passenger or if you would simply be interested in finding an alternative to getting about and beating some of the parking and congestion problems that many of us face everyday then this could well be a scheme for you.

Registration is required in order that Liftshare can run the scheme as safely as possible, but will only take a few minutes. Liftshare guarantees that none of the details used in this process will be passed on to a third party.
