The aim of the report was to provide a factual record of the flood, and assess its cause, severity and impact. The brief did not include judging the performance of any of the professional bodies involved or proposing possible solutions. The resulting Sussex Ouse 12th October 2000 Flood Report (the Flood Report) is a detailed and lengthy document and the Executive Summary below has been prepared so that an abbreviated version can be easily and widely distributed.
