Listed Building and Conservation Area Consent Application Forms

For any works to alter, extend or demolish a listed building or substantial demolitions of buildings and other structures in a Conservation Area.

Listed Buildings

This form should be used for works to a Listed Building such as:

• Works to a listed building/structure, either internally or externally 
• Works to a building or structure abutting or fixed to a listed building
• The demolition or partial demolition of a listed building

Please note that any new buildings/structures/works within the curtilage of a Listed Building require planning permission under Householder Consent or Full Planning Consent.

Conservation Area Consent

This form should only be used for the proposed demolition of an unlisted building/structure within a conservation area that falls within the following constraints:

• Demolition of a building with a volume of more than 115 cubic metres
• Demolition of a gate, wall, fence or railing that is more than 1 metre high where it is next to a highway, public footpath, bridleway, waterway or public open space; or more than 2 metres high elsewhere

Certain buildings are exempt from Conservation Area Consent.  Please check the Schedule of Buildings that are Exempt for further information.
