Festive and starry theme for late night shopping in Lewes

Lewes District Council is starting the festive season in style with a festive and starry theme for late night shopping in Lewes on Thursday 1 December.

Come along between 5.30pm and 8pm to the Lewes Tourist Information Centre, High Street, Lewes. 

Peruse and select at your leisure from a variety of unique gifts and Christmas cards. You can also view and purchase art from the pop up art gallery. A special gift wrapping service is on offer while you relax and enjoy the mulled cider on offer.

Make Christmas magical with a visit to Santa’s Grotto at Lewes House, 32 High Street, from 6.00pm until 8.30pm. Santa will take up residence once again in Lewes House. It’s not only a lovely treat for the kids, but parents as well with mulled wine on offer while they wait.

Cllr Nigel Enever, Chair of Lewes District Council will be hosting the Santa’s Grotto event.

Lewes is the place to buy an original piece of art with the launch of a Gallery guide and two pop-up galleries in the town. The new printed Gallery Guide for Lewes, featuring eight independent venues who exhibit work by contemporary Sussex artists, will also be launching on 1 December. It can also be downloaded from www.staylewes.org with copies available at the featured venues, The Chalk, Hop, Pelham House, Keizer Frames, Sussex Guild Shop, Ooh Art, Tom Paine Printing Press and Lewes Tourist Information Centre.

Harvey’s Yard Event
Harvey’s will host their traditional yard event between 6pm and 9pm where you’ll be able to enjoy this year’s fresh batch of Christmas Ale whilst enjoying music from Waterloo Pipe and Drum Band, carol singing, or some excellent jazz.  A 1924 steam omnibus from Tinkers Park will be on display, while Harvey’s heavy horses and vintage vehicles will come and go throughout the evening.  

The Town Trail
Pick up a copy of Viva Lewes to enter the town trail, there are fabulous prizes up for grabs including a festive hamper from Harvey’s Brewery and a £25 voucher for Bags of Books.
