Free tours on offer at UTC@harbourside

UTC harbourside

Following the recent and very successful Re-imagined Buildings film event at the UTC@harbourside in Newhaven, when residents were able to see inside the transformed Grade 2 listed Marine and Carpenters workshops for the first time, the new college has decided to open its doors to the public regularly.

During the recent film event a former employee of the old workshops came along, specifically to have a look inside, and was completely overwhelmed by the amazing changes.   Free tours of the building will take place on Thursdays from 2.30pm and Friday afternoons from 4pm.

Tours must be booked in advance by contacting the UTC@harbourside direct on 01273 916170.  Please note that the college will be closed from 22 December until 3 January 2017.

UTC@harbourside is based in a converted Grade II listed marine and carpenters’ workshops at Railway Quay, Newhaven. The buildings have been imaginatively converted and extended to retain heritage features, whilst providing a 21st century learning environment.

The college is jointly sponsored by Lewes District Council, educational charity The Aldridge Foundation, the University of Brighton and Veolia.
