Lewes Skatepark – New designs to be unveiled at consultation workshop

Lewes Skate Park - 2nd consultation

Lewes District Council is working to create a brand new skatepark at Malling recreation ground in Lewes (behind Tesco), by totally revamping the existing skatepark.

Following a successful consultation event in May, when skaters came along to the initial workshop to let us know their ideas on what ramps, bowls and street elements they would like the new skatepark to include, we are keen to share the proposals that have been submitted by three companies.

The next consultation Workshop event will take place at Lewes House, High Street, Lewes, BN7 2LU between 3pm and 6pm on Wednesday 14 September and we are inviting skaters to talk to the prospective designers and vote for their favourite design.

Cllr Andy Smith, Leader of Lewes District Council said “It was great to meet so many skaters when they came along to the initial workshop earlier this year and it provided the ideal opportunity to share ideas on what they want the new skatepark to include.  They are really enthusiastic about our plans and the Council is doing everything it can to turn their ideas into reality.”

For those who are not able to make the workshop more information is available at:  www.lewesskatepark.org

There will also be the opportunity to vote and comment online after the event on 14 September.
