A LEAP into business success for Dolly Fixtures
A creative and quirky range of home furniture and accessories based on mannequins covered with decoupage fabrics and textiles is now available to buy or hire. The creator and owner of Dolly Fixtures - Tracey Horan found the inspiration to turn her artistic talent into a business venture after successfully completing the LEAP (Local Enterprise & Apprenticeship Platform) programme.
Tracey was named Entrepreneur of the Year in the 2016 Lewes District Business Awards and she received the title at the prestigious awards ceremony held recently at Lewes Town Hall, with more than 200 of the district’s leading business people, sponsors and judges in attendance. She said: “I am thrilled to have received the accolade of Entrepreneur of the Year. My company, “Dolly Fixtures” offers a range of unique home furniture and accessories that stand out in the market. I am a craftsperson creating realistically priced British made furniture products for sale and for hire. The LEAP course totally inspired me and I know that starting a business on my own is the right way forward to bring these special furniture pieces to customers.”
LEAP recognises the wealth of small independent businesses with big ideas in the district and is excited and proud to sponsor the Entrepreneur of the Year Category. Cllr Andy Smith, Leader of Lewes District Council said “I’m delighted that the innovative LEAP programme, set up by Lewes District Council and now delivered by EDEAL offers free training, business support and professional mentoring to help local entrepreneurs gain the skills they need to start up their business and help to grow the local economy. I congratulate Tracey and feel confident that her innovative and very creative range of Dolly Fixtures furniture and accessories will deliver ongoing success for her company.”
Christina Ewbank, Chief Executive at EDEAL said “We are thrilled that we have supported Tracey through an intensive training programme that has helped her make her business dream a reality. We wish her and our other entrepreneurs every success in the future.”
