Hover a while on the beach!
Lewes District Council staff are well used to clearing away litter and unwanted refuse as they strive to keep the district clean and pristine for residents and visitors.
As part of the Council’s extra weekend collection service to Seaford seafront to keep it sparkling during the summer they arrived yesterday, (Sunday 17 July), to empty litter bins and carry out additional litter picking as usual. They were rather bemused to find a lawn mower had been placed on the beach.
Scot Reid, Head of Customer Services at Lewes District Council said: “We’re not sure when the lawn mower was left on the beach, but we are happy to reunite it with its owner if they make contact with us.”
Lewes District Council is making a concerted effort to tackle the issue of litter on the seafront and over flowing litter bins. With the introduction of additional collection services until the end of September and increased litter picking the Council is confident that this extra service will help keep the area clean and tidy for all to enjoy.
