We have again frozen council tax for another year. This means an average Band D tax payer will still pay £192.48 for the year.
Our ambitious programme to improve customer services, work smarter and save money by delivering a programme to modernise the way it works is well underway.
Cllr Andy Smith, Lead Member for Finance at Lewes District Council said: “The financial climate remains tough and a council tax freeze makes a real difference to families and those on fixed or low incomes. We will therefore help council taxpayers by once again freezing next year’s council tax”.
Residents' council tax bills are made up of the budget needs of East Sussex County Council, the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner, East Sussex Fire Authority and their local town or parish council.
All of the principal authorities have agreed to freeze their elements of the council tax bill. The average council tax for town and parish councils for the year increases by £0.34.
The total average Band D amount is £1,645.22
