Closer Working With Federation Of Small Businesses

Cllr Nicholson meeting members of the Federation Of Small BusinessesA recent meeting between Lewes District Council and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) heralded the start of a new relationship of working together to support business and enterprise within the Lewes District.

Representatives from the FSB pledged their support to help us develop a Lewes District Business Charter. This will set out a structure and commitment to work and engage with business to support long term economic prosperity.

Councillor Tony Nicholson, Leader of Lewes District Council said: “I am delighted that FSB have agreed to work with Lewes on the District's Business Charter.  I left the meeting feeling very positive about what we can do with the FSB to tackle real issues that matter to our businesses and residents, particularly in the current economic climate.”

Arthur Mapletoft Said: “The meeting was informative.  The FSB has over a thousand members in the area and we work with partner organisations for our member’s interests and to sustain the local economy.  So we are pleased that the Council is listening to us and engaging with us today and laying out plans for further dialogue in their Charter.”
