
Practical Conservation Volunteering
Want to help to make a difference in your Local Nature Reserve? Don't mind getting your hands dirty?
Then why not get involved in helping with practical nature conservation tasks. Join the Lewes District Council Community Ranger and members of the Lewes Railway Land Meadow Minders or the Castle Hill Conservation Group to help with practical conservation tasks in Lewes and Newhaven. We carry out a variety of work which can include general habitat, woodland and chalk grassland management, footpath maintenance, step building, surveying plants, ponds and animals, scrub clearance and much more!

Meet at Newhaven Fort Car Park, just off Fort Road near to the recreation ground.
1.30pm 1ST SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH FOR WORK ON LEWES RAILWAY LAND
Meet at main entrance to Railway Land, at the end of Railway Lane near to Friars car park.
