The heathland is much flatter than the woodland, and has large areas of gorse, with occasional patches of heather. It is full of small grassy clearings or glades which are great places to see butterflies and wildflowers in summer. There are a number of Badger sets within the woodland, and a wide variety of woodland birds, including woodpeckers. There are several public rights of way running through the site, which are way marked. The public is advised to stick to these particularly as some cross the golf course which is private land. There is no public parking at this site, so access is best on foot, or by bus. |
