These creatures have experienced widespread decline due to habitat loss over the past few years, and therefore it is our intention to manage the site to maximise the conditions for Great Crested Newts. This will involve preventing the pond from becoming too overgrown, and removing invasive species of plant and animal, such as Parrots Feather, Terrapins and Gold fish. The site offers a good educational resource to the local community and local schools, and as such we are encouraging annual conservation days, as well as primary school science lessons to be conducted here.
