Byelaws have also been introduced in some parks, recreation areas, beaches and cliff tops to ensure that owners “pick-up” after their dogs. An ongoing programme exists to identify other areas that would be suitable for voluntary poop-scoop schemes. If you are not sure what the byelaws mean or where they are in force, contact your local Animal Warden. It is in the interest of health and hygiene to pick up after your dog and use the dog bins provided because:-

If your local dog bin is full please contact us to arrange for it to be emptied. If no bins are readily available the dog faeces should be taken home and disposed of in a hygienic manner. The dog bin is to be used for dog fouling from public highways only. It is not to be used for dog waste, cat litter and household waste from your private residence. Offenders may be prosecuted.
