The Council has a duty to investigate nuisance complaints and this includes smoke. The Environment and Health Department undertakes the investigation of these complaints to determine whether the smoke amounts to a statutory nuisance. It must be recognised that not all smoke constitutes a nuisance and there will be many instances when we cannot offer any assistance. The most common of these is bonfires. |
