A series of 6 leaflets have been produced to provide a range of information, practical tips and ideas on how to reduce the amount of waste we regularly put in our dustbins. By avoiding waste in the first place, we cause less harm to our environment and save vital resources. To download the leaflets please click on the "Reduce Reuse Recycle " under the "Relevant documents" below. Everything we throw away was originally an item which was either essential, wanted or required. Making, transporting, using and finally throwing away these items uses energy and creates various types of pollution. All this helps towards the creation of climate change. The Government is working with all major retailers who sell light bulbs, the lighting industry and UK energy suppliers to phase out traditional energy guzzling bulbs, replacing them with energy efficient light bulbs (CFLs).
