Food production and quality

The Environmental Health Department has a Food safety team which is responsible for enforcing food safety laws.

Our aim is to ensure that food is produced, stored, distributed, handled and consumed in such a way that the risks to the consumer are kept to the minimum that is reasonably practicable. The Lewes District Council Food Service Plan details the ways in which we protect consumers and promote food safety within the District.
