Food Safety

• Breastfeeding Welcome cafes

  We work with East Sussex Downs and Weald Primary Care Trust to help local mum's to promote the 'Breastfeeding Welcome' message in local cafes.

• Food Hygiene Training

  We provide courses for food handlers who are now required to hold a hygiene certificate before operating as a business.

• Food Hygiene Training Courses

  Information of companies who provide basic food hygiene training.

• Clean Catering Awards

  Our Clean Catering Award is an assurance to the standard of food being served by a business in the district.

• Delivery & Snack Vehicles

  Mobile caterers and snack vehicles require permissions to operate and serve food in locations within the district.

• Market Traders & Farmers

  Food sellers trading at farmer’s markets are required to abide by food hygiene laws. These are controlled by us and trading standards officers.

• Commercial Home Cooking

  Producing food at home for sale and paying guests requires licensing in certain instances.

• Food Complaints

  Foreign objects in food are a common complaint. They are not nice but not all pose a health risk.
