The Core Strategy is the central policy document for the Local Development Framework. It will set out the long term spatial vision for the District. This document will look strategically at the District in a similar way to how the old Structure Plan did for the County.
On 29 September 2006 the District Council published its Preferred Options and associated Background Reports for the Core Strategy.

Specific Background Reports associated with the Preferred Options
The consultation period ran until 10 November 2006. The Council is now analysing all the representations and considering the implications of some changes in the way that Government requires the Core Strategy to be produced.
