A Premises Licence covers the sale of alcohol, regulated entertainment and late-night refreshment under one licence.
A Club Premises Certificate covers the supply of alcohol and provision of regulated entertainment to club members and guests. Under the Licensing Act 2003, licences will be required for any of the following:

A personal licence is required for the sale and supply of alcohol and it is valid for 10 years.
Application for a personal licence is made to the licensing authority in whose area you normally reside and must be accompanied by an approved licensing qualification, a criminal record check and two passport size photographs.

This authority is under a duty to protect the public funds it administers, and to this end may use the information you have provided on this form for the prevention and detection of fraud. It may also share this information with other bodies responsible for auditing or administering public funds for these purposes.
Temporary Event Notices (TEN) allow village halls, schools and similar venues to easily apply for, and put on, one-off events involving the sale of alcohol, public entertainment and late night refreshment.
Events covered by a TEN can last for up to 96 hours and must involve no more than 499 people. The organiser of the event must submit two copies of the application to us and one to the Police at least 10 working days before the event is due to take place.

The aim is to help build a fair and prosperous society, properly balancing the rights of people and their communities by following the above principles. It also intends to encourage tourism, reduce alcohol misuse, improve the self-sufficiency of local communities and reduce the burden of unnecessary regulations on businesses.
