BackgroundAs from the end of September 2004, the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 came into operation. This means that the review of the existing District Local Plan will take the form of the Local Development Framework (LDF). Until it is in place the Local Plan will remain the statutory planning document.The Local Development Framework will consist of a portfolio of local development documents that set out the spatial planning strategy for the District Council area. Also, the Council has produced a summary leaflet entitled Desperately Seeking LDFThe Council has prepared a short introductory film, setting out what the LDF is about for those people with little, or no, knowledge of the planning system. A trailer for the film, called 'Desperately Seeking LDF' can be viewed by following the link below. To view the film you will need a copy of Quick Time on your computer. If you do not have a copy you can download the software free from www.apple.com/quicktime/download/.
