Please see below for the Environmental Statement for the financial year 2007/8. This is a full statement for our re-verification to the European EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) standard for environmental management and reporting. The next two statements for 2008/09 and 2009/10 shall be smaller statement updates.
This statement reports on the varied work that is undertaken by the Council to maintain and improve the environment of the District and also on it's own performance as an organisation employing over 300 full time staff. Previous statements have been removed from this site as 2007/08 is also our new baseline year for many of the indicators that make up the Environmental Programme as we have improved upon many of our energy and transport related methodologies and have brought them into line with Government reporting requirements.
