You are here: Home > Environment and Planning > Pests and nuisance > Animal nuisance > Barking dogs > How can I deal with noise from a barking dog? How can I deal with noise from a barking dog?Private propertyIf you live in private property you can contact our Animal Wardens, telephone 01273 484354. Details will be required of the owner's address and times when the animal(s) are barking. If required, a letter will be sent to the owner. They may also send you a "more information" sheet in order that you can list all the times the animal is barking. It may be that the dog is only barking whilst the owner is out. In this instance the Wardens may be able to resolve the matter with the owner by offering helpful advice or referral to a pet behaviourist. If this course of action does not resolve the problem your complaint will be passed to a member of our Environmental Health Team to determine if a statutory nuisance exists and if further action should be taken. Council propertyIf you live in Council rented property you can contact our Housing Officers on 01273 471600 for advice on resolving the problem, as this may come under the terms of the tenancy agreement. |
