You are here: Home > Environment and Planning > Pests and nuisance > Pests > Wasps > How do I get rid of or control wasps? How do I get rid of or control wasps? We will treat all accessible wasp nests in properties, gardens and public areas, where appropriate. The nest is treated with pesticide, but it may take some time for the pesticide to work completely so some wasps may remain for a few days. The treated nest needs to remain in order that the returning wasps are killed. Also, the pesticide will not kill the pupa until they emerge as wasps. Once treated the nest will do no damage to your house and can be left, alternatively, you can remove it once all activity has ceased, taking adequate precautions for any residual pesticide. Our aim is that all requests for wasp nest treatments will be actioned within five full working days (where requests are received before 10am). There is a charge of £33 for one nest, plus £10 for each additional nest treated on the same visit. We will send you a bill once the treatment has been successful. The charge for domestic and business premises is the same. For further information or to make an appointment please contact the Pest Control Officer who will be available between 9am - 10am Monday to Friday, on 01273 484352. |
