All these sites represent important and diverse habitats, some of which are nationally rare. They are predominantly urban fringe sites, offering a great opportunity for informal recreation and educational research, within easy access of some of our major urban environments. Lewes District Council actively manages these areas for nature conservation, informal recreation and community education. Working in partnership with voluntary groups, local and national organisations and local schools, we are seeking to maintain and enhance these areas for the benefit of wildlife and people.
