How do I get rid of or control bees?We will treat bee nests in properties, gardens and public areas, where appropriate. Swarms can only be collected once they have settled. Many swarms will move on the same day or by the following day. We may be able to help if you wish it to be collected but a local Beekeeper may be the best option. However, they will only collect bees from accessible places and a charge may be made to cover their expenses. Bees only swarm in the warm months of the year. Honey bees are not normally dangerous and do not attack or sting unless provoked, but are best left alone. There are some species of bee which are unable to sting. Bees will only be destroyed if there is a real danger to public health and no other alternative is available. There is a charge of £41 made for treatment carried out on a bee nest. We will send you a bill once the treatment has been successful. The charge for domestic and business premises is the same. The service is free if you receive one of the following:
You may be asked to provide proof of benefit receipt by the visiting Pest Control Officer. It is advisable that you do not try and carry out treatment to a nest or swarm but to call in an expert. For further information or to make an appointment please telephone the Pest Control Officer who is available between 9 - 10am Monday to Friday on 01273 484352. |
