Apply Online

We work in partnership with Business Link to issue all of our licences online. You will be required to follow these steps:

  1. Complete the Business Link questionnaire on 'Your Business'
  2.  Receive a checklist of all licences that apply to you
  3. Apply for each licence from the Business Link results page.

By creating a Business Link account, your results will be stored in your profile. You may log-in and return to them in your own time. In addition to listing all the licences required, the questionnaire results will also detail the regulations your business should meet as well as provide further help and guidance.

Application Requirements

An application form for registration must be submitted, together with a police enquiry form and documents to prove your identity.  You may be expected to produce these in person at our offices.

Fees

£80 - valid for three years

If an application to renew the registration is made two months before the expiry date then the registration will continue in force until the renewal has been determined.

Processing Applications

On receipt of an application, details will be passed to the Sussex Police.  In deciding whether to approve an application for registration we must be satisfied the applicant is a ‘fit and proper’ person.  We can refuse registrations to anyone convicted of an offence under the Act, or who has unspent convictions for certain offences.

Further important information is available in Guidance for Motor Salvage Operators.
