Energy efficiency grants and assistance is available from us and various other organisations. We highlight a selection to help you save money and energy.
Warm Front makes homes warmer, healthier and more energy-efficient. The Warm Front Scheme provides insulation and heating improvements up to the value of £3,500. Or £6,000 where oil, low carbon or renewable technologies are recommended.
It is a Government-funded initiative and the scheme is managed by eaga. If you own your own home or rent it from a private landlord, you may be eligible for a grant under the Warm Front Scheme.
All eligible Warm Front applicants receive a survey of their property, which includes energy efficiency advice and two energy efficient light bulbs. Measures include loft insulation, draught proofing, cavity-wall insulation, hot water tank insulation, central heating systems and boiler replacement.Also included are repairs of an existing heating system, and electric storage heaters.
Home owners or tenants in private rented accommodation may be eligible for a discretionary grant for energy efficiency measures for their property.
Applicants who are not in receipt of means tested benefit but who are over 60 years of age and live in a property which is in Council Tax band A – D can qualify for a 100% grant for loft and cavity wall insulation.
This scheme is funded by us and is administered by Climate Energy Ltd, 9 Pavilion Parade, Brighton, on 0800 1071130. Climate Energy also offer competitive rates for those who do not meet the criteria for the Keep Warm in Winter Campaign.

The Minor Repair Grant (MRG) is designed to provide assistance in the form of a grant for small scale works of repair, improvement and adaptation to a dwelling in order to make it suitable for occupation and free from hazards. Examples of eligible work includes replacement boilers, windows and roof repairs.
The maximum grant amount is £6000, with a charge being place on the property for the proportion of grant between £3500-£6000. The charge is only repayable when the property is sold.
To be eligible you must be in receipt of a means tested benefit. If you are not in receipt of any benefit or the cost of work is above £6000 the Council, in partnership with South Coast Money Line now offer subsidised low interest loans.
