Our thinking on waste

We have set out how we plan to meet our statutory obligations and targets for waste management in the District in a document called the Sustainable Waste Management Strategy. It also includes some important principles and priorities at a local level, namely waste prevention and minimisation, sustainable recycling options and opposition to incineration of waste. We have set an aspirational target of achieving zero waste to landfill and will work closely with other partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors to achieve our target.
