A key part of our work is the efficient and effective collection of local council tax and national non-domestic rates. These taxes help to pay for the services and facilities we provide to the local community. We also collect local taxes on behalf of East Sussex County Council, the Sussex Police Authority and town and parish councils.
We have an overall customer charter setting out our staff's conduct and response times to enquiries. Along with this, the department has specific service standards to cover their work.
We regularly monitor our performance and publish our aims for the next one-to-three years, stating our intentions. All these details are listed on our department performance and policy page. Our accounts and listed on our Corporate Information page.
We aim to provide a satisfactory level of service at all times when dealing with our customers and residents . Should we fail to meet your expectations, please refer to our complaints procedure.
