It is updated regularly, to ensure that there is less chance of the Panel members becoming too "familiar" with Council services, and therefore no longer a fair reflection of general views about the Council services.
How does the panel work?Panel members will be contacted by post or telephone regularly to answer questions about issues and services involving the District Council and the community. What happens to the views panel members express? All views and opinions expressed by panel members are collected and reported to elected councillors to consider as part of the council's decision making process. What reward do panel members get? There are no financial rewards for being a panel member. We hope people want to take part because they care about our community. Their views help councillors make sure services match the needs of the community. We let them know the results of the surveys they take part in and what action the District Council will take on these issues. What are the benefits of having a Panel? We already consult many organisations as part of our work. The panel is an important way of finding out the views of local people on important issues. What do people who'd like to be on the Panel do now? Please contact the Communications Manager or the Information Officer for more information. |
