Direct Debit Document

Pay By Direct Debit

You can make regular payments by signing up to pay automatically by direct debit on the first of each month. This is the simplest way to pay and the one we recommend.

You have a money back guarantee from your bank in the event of an error, advance notice if the date or amount changes and the right to cancel at any time. You only need to sign one form and your bank does the rest.

To pay by direct debit download a Direct Debit form below, print it off, fill it in and send it back to us at:

Finance Department
Lewes District Council
Southover House
Southover Road
Lewes BN7 1AB

If you need to change your Direct Debit details you can contact on 01273 484189. If you prefer you can download a new Direct Debit form and fill it in with your new details and send it to us. Please write on the form it is a change to a current direct debit.

Internet Banking, Telephone Banking and Standing Order.

If your bank offers internet banking or telephone banking services with your account, you may use these services to pay your Council Tax.  If you set up a standing order with your bank, these are the details you will need:

In all cases, the payment reference to quote is your Council Tax account number as shown on the front of the bill you are paying.

Payments should be made to:
Bank Account Number: 10298260
Sort Code: 30-80-12    (Lloyds Bank)

You should allow at least five working days for payments to reach us.

Please note that if you set up a standing order you will need to contact your bank yourself whenever there is a change to the monthly amount you need to pay. If you pay by Direct Debit these changes are made for you automatically.
