Department Plans & Performance

• Audit & Performance

  The Audit and Performance Division is part of the Finance Directorate. It assesses the effectiveness of the Council’s internal control environment and the Council's Corporate Governance arrangements. It also leads on strategic procurement.

• Communities & Enterprise

  Information for our Communities & Enterprise department, comprising of management of our property assets, regeneration, economic development, tourism and cultural services.

• Contracts & Facilities

  The Contracts and Facilities Division, part of the Finance Directorate, oversee major contracts to ensure services provided by our contractors are cost-effective.

• District Services

  Comprising a broad range of services including refuse collection recycling and street cleaning, parks, play areas and open spaces, cemeteries, sustainable development and climate change.

• Environmental Health

  The Environmental Health Department is part of the Environmental Services Directorate. Our primary role is to enforce public health and environmental legislation.

• Financal Services

  The Financial Services Division is part of the Finance Directorate. It provides a range of core financial and accountancy services which support the delivery of frontline services and ensure the Council’s finances are managed well.

• Housing

  The Housing Department manages the housing waiting list and a homelessness service which includes homelessness prevention, emergency housing and a comprehensive housing advice service.

• Internal Services

  Comprising corporate support, IT and personnel, Internal Services provides vital communication and administrative support for the rest of the Council.

• Legal, Democratic & Communication Services

  Comprising legal services, committee administration, electoral services, public consultation and press, design and printing services and Local Land Charges.

• Revenues & Benefits

  Responsible for the administration of Housing and Council Tax Benefits, the administration and collection of Council Tax and Business Rates and the investigation of Housing and Council Tax Benefit Fraud.

• Planning & Building Control

  We provide a range of planning policy, development management, building control and related services. We work on behalf of the South Downs National Park Authority on planning matters which affect the Park.
