Equality Standard for Local Government

Working within the Equality Standard, we can assess, monitor and review our progress on ensuring that equality issues for race, disability, gender, age, sexuality and religion or belief are considered at all levels of Council policy and practice. The Equality Standard has five levels:

Level 1 - Commitment to a Comprehensive Equality Policy
Level 2 - Assessment and Community Engagement
Level 3 - Setting Equality Objectives and Targets
Level 4 - Information Systems and Monitoring against Targets
Level 5 - Achieving and Reviewing Outcomes

We are currently working towards Level 2 of the Equality Standard.
