Lewes District Council's Local Sustainability Team has been out and about with the Smarter Living Roadshow offering low carbon solutions and advice on how to tackle Climate Change.

On Saturday 20th June the Energy Fair was held in Cliffe Precinct, Lewes in partnership with OVESCo (Ouse Valley Energy Services Company).

A number of renewable energy installers offered advice on the latest technology. The weather made some of the more interactive activities such as the solar car racing difficult but there was enough wind to turn the turbine and power the low energy halogen lights.

On Friday 27th June, the Local Sustainability Team taught year 4 children at Ringmer Primary School about climate change and ways of reducing their impact on the planet. Demonstrating renewable energy, deconstructing a Kinder egg, calculating group ecological footprints and discussing climate threats and solutions were just some of the methods used. The youngsters were very enthusiastic and well aware of the links between carbon heavy lifestyles and climate impacts.
