Lewes District Council's Noise Patrol team operates every Friday and Saturday night throughout the district from 9pm to 1am from May to September. Chair of Lewes District Council, Councillor Carla Butler had the chance recently to accompany the patrol on one of their visits around the district. She said, 'I was very impressed with the effort and dedication shown by the team from Environmental Health's Noise Patrol. They regularly monitor areas where they receive ongoing complaints and also respond quickly to calls from the public. 'I would encourage residents not to suffer loud noise from parties, pubs, clubs and car alarms. The first response should be a polite request to the person creating the noise but should that fail contact the Noise Patrol.' For more information or advice call 01273 471600 and ask for the Noise Patrol or email ehealth@lewes.gov.uk. Out of office hours calls can be logged on the pollution hotline on 01273 484340 which is monitored by the Noise Patrol who will contact you about your complaint.
