2 May 2008: Lewes District Council reception for volunteers

The Chair of Lewes District Council, Councillor Michael Chartier hosted an evening reception at Lewes House on 30th April to recognise the fantastic contribution made by individuals, groups and organisations through voluntarily working with the Council in serving local people.

Over 80 people attended this successful event including representatives from Coastal Watch, Seaford Lifeguards, flood wardens and families taking part in the Council’s low carbon household project.

Councillor Chartier said, “At the heart of this reception is the recognition that we need to thank those giving their valuable time in supporting the wider community. It is heartening to see such a wide range of people from all walks of life who give so much of their time in this way.”
