28 January 2008: Key services for residents of Seaford now under one roof

“37 Church Street”, Seaford has been transformed into the new multi agency building following a £240,000 refurbishment programme. Almost any enquiry that local residents have can now be dealt with by just one visit.

Seaford Tourist Information Centre, Seaford Town Council, Citizens Advice Bureau, Sussex Police and a number of Lewes District Council services are now available from the new “one stop shop”.

Lewes District Council’s Housing Advice Surgery is held every Thursday morning from 10.00am until 12.30 at 37 Church Street. They can be contacted on 01273 484001.

This exciting new development for Seaford is a welcome addition for residents and visitors who can now visit all of these key services in one central location. It was officially opened last week by the High Sheriff of East Sussex Mrs Caroline Mayhew, who congratulated all concerned in the 'exciting' new project.

An Online information kiosk in the newly refurbished reception area means that visitors to 37 Church Street can access County Council services too.

David Gray, Lead Councillor for Community at Lewes District Council says “This is a brilliant example of partnership working for the benefit of local residents. They can now access a variety of services by just visiting one building, 37 Church Street. All the organisations involved have worked closely to make sure we have a “one stop shop” that everyone can be proud of”.
