Sustainable Community Strategy Consultation

A joint strategy developed by The Lewes District Local Strategic Partnership to set out a shared vision for the local community.

The main agencies, organisations and local community groups involved is East Sussex County Council, District and Borough Councils, Sussex Police, Primary Care Trust, South Downs Council for Voluntary Services, Action in Rural Sussex, town and parish councils and others.

These groups represent the public, private, community and voluntary sectors as well as the five distinctly different geographical parts of the District. These are Lewes Town, Newhaven, Peacehaven and Telscombe, Seaford, as well as the many rural communities.

The Sustainable Community Strategy sets out a shared vision to tackle deprivation and inequality in the Lewes District and improve the quality of life of local communities.

It sets out the key priorities for action over the coming years across six main themes:

• Decent and Affordable Housing For All
• Safer and Stronger Communities
• Access to Good Local Facilities
• Healthier Communities
• A Vibrant and Sustainable Economy
