Gender Equality Scheme

The Equality Act 2006 places a duty on all public authorities to have due regard to the need:

• To eliminate unlawful discrimination and harassment
• To promote equality of opportunity for women and men.

The aim of the Scheme is to demonstrate how we intend to meet our duty to promote equality for women and men in our policy-making, service provision and employment matters.

We welcome your comments and suggestions on the Scheme. Any feedback received will be considered in the Scheme’s development and review.
