Our Allotments

We operate a limited number of allotments within the district. These are in addition to those operated by the other town and parish councils.

We run allotments in School Field Barcombe, Broyle Close Ringmer, Green Close Ringmer, Ditchling, East Side Newhaven, Kingston and Newick.

Plots are measured in Poles. A full size allotment is 10 rods (280 square yards) and the majority of allotments are either 10 rods or 5 rods in size.

The allotments are rented for one year commencing on 1 April and the current annual rent is £4.30 per rod.

As all of our sites are small in size they are generally all in use. However, we do operate a waiting list for prospective tenants to be added to.

Please note that as of 1st May 2010 the waiting list for Eastside in Newhaven has been closed as there are already over 60 applicants on this list.
