Roads & Vehicle Noise and Nuisance
Noise and nuisance from roads and vehicles can be dealt with by the police and other authorities if reported.
Road Noise
Recently altered or built roads that have lead to an increase local noise levels may be liable to compensation. East Sussex County Council can discuss the matter further.
However, existing roads have no legislation in place to allows us to deal with noise from vehicles moving on the highway apart from defective vehicles. In such a case then please contact Sussex Police on 0845 6070999.
Illegal off-road motorcycling
Report incidents to Sussex Police Authority. Keep a log of the incidents and if you know the details of the names and addresses of the offenders pass this information on.
The police have a number of off-road police motorcycles that are used to deter this anti-social behaviour. They may confiscate and withhold bikes.
