Relocating

We offer information and support to businesses looking to expand or relocate into the Lewes district.

Our district offers exceptional opportunities for businesses establishing, expanding or relocating in the area.

Locate East Sussex works with us to attract new business to the area and identify new sites for start up and expansion.

Their services are available at no charge and can include investor advice and assistance, facilitating development opportunities and sites and premises searches.

Newhaven Enterprise Centre is run in partnership with South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) and Basepoint Ltd.

It provides 2000sq m of business space in 45 small furnished incubator units for start ups, workshops and larger units aimed at businesses with one to ten people.

Premises to Let

There are a number of industrial estates to meet a range of needs. We let, as ground landlord, long leases to more than 100 business units spread across 6 industrial estates in Lewes, Newhaven and Seaford.

Leaseholders generally market their premises availability through local commercial agents who should be the initial point of contact.

Our Legal Services will deal with any licence to assign issues that arise from such marketing. Occasionally, we have property available for disposal and these opportunities are advertised as necessary.

Commercial properties

We have a list of existing uses for land within the town centre of the district. This report is part of the Local Development Framework baseline evidence gathering.  The aim of the report is to give an audit of town centre uses.
