Pleasure Boat Licences, once issued, are renewable annually at no cost. All pleasure boats and pleasure vessels with a passenger carrying capacity not exceeding 12 persons, to be let for hire or used for carrying passengers for hire, operating within a distance of 3 miles seaward, are required to be licensed with Lewes District Council. To operate outside the above limit an application should be made to the Department of Transport. For further information or advice, please telephone 01273 484358 or email ehealth@lewes.gov.uk.
