Pedestrian precincts licences

Use of the precincts can be applied for in connection with setting up of information tables, fund-raising events for charity, small open-air exhibitions, religious meetings etc and in connection with a charitable street collection, for which a separate permit should be sought. Permission would normally only be granted specifically for one day.

To apply for a permit please contact the Environmental Health Department on 01273 484355, e-mail ehealth@lewes.gov.uk, fax on 01273 484451 or by letter for an application form and conditions of use.

At least ten days' notice of proposed use is preferred and on receipt of a satisfactory application the required date will be allocated, subject to availability, and a permit issued with a copy of the original application. Conditions of use must be adhered to, along with any additional conditions that may be applied to a specific use on the permit.
